The conversion of electricity generation to renewables already progresses fast. Warming houses and offices with heat pumps instead of gas or fuel can bring climate protection another big step forward: “Sector coupling” helps overcome energy storage problems, as each unit of heat pump/storage acts as a large "virtual battery" at hardly any cost! Therefore Easy Smart Grid joined the “DeCarbHeat” pledge initiated Thomas Nowak, Secretary General of European Heat Pump Association (ehpa). At an event in Brussels 10 million heat pumps in Europe were celebrated, and steps to realize the next 10 million discussed.
