Reporting on the south-western German state of Baden-Württemberg as a “strong country”, the SPIEGEL points on the role of citizens and their participation as a decisive factor of the energy transition. It describes our role in SoLAR, the project developed in Allensbach, and its replication potential in Germany. Stefan Werner, speaker of the Lokale Agenda 21 in Allensbach and now also Easy Smart Grid solution manager, is cited how the match was made: “How can small devices down to refrigerators be controlled and participate in a smart grid to reduce grid cost? In fact, just little hardware and programming is needed”.
