Who we are:

Easy Smart Grid was founded in Karlsruhe/Germany in 2014 with a clear vision: An energy system dominated by renewable sources.Our mission is to supply the missing puzzle piece - a real time information and communication technology with unmatched price/performance ratio to make the energy transformation simple and affordable.

In our first development phase, we built an international network and recognition with thought leaders on micro grids, demand side management, real time energy markets, smart decentralized control and innovative system architectures such as cellular grids.Now is the time to move our technology from solid theory to daily reality.

Working student | Embedded Systems Engineering (m/w)


  • Design technical concept together with responsible Solution Developer
  • Embedded Software Development of various software modules
  • Integration of our algorithm into industrial embedded controller software
  • Communicative integration of controllers into existing application systems
  • Maintenance and care of existing applications

You should bring this with you:

  • You are a student (m / w) in a technical discipline, e.g. Computer science, electrical engineering, or similar
  • A good overview of industrial microcontrollers and PLCs with first experiences in practical implementation in real systems
  • Good knowledge and first practical experience with:
  • relevant programming languages, e.g.. C, C++, Java, Python, LabVIEW, Assembler, PAD, KOP,    FUP, AWL, SCL, S7 Graph
  • industrial Ethernet and fieldbus systems, e.g.. Modbus, Interbus, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT,            Profinet, Profibus, DeviceNet, ControlNet, CC-Link, CANopen, Sercos, eBus

Master thesis | Provision of control power through smart grids - analysis of technical and economic potentials

The transformation of our energy system from central structures with fossil-fueled large-scale power plants to a decentralized regenerative energy landscape requires new, intelligent solutions to ensure security of supply in the future. In general, control power is used to balance imbalances between supply and output in the power system. In the current context, this is primarily provided by large power plants - especially in the primary control power segment. As part of the Master's thesis, the opportunity to provide primary control power throw small decentralized flexibilities should be given as an alternative to the current market design. In addition to the weekly invitation to tender for services, this will also open a labor market, in which market participants who are not invited by the tender can offer short-term balancing services. A promising approach for the technical realization of the control is the concept "Smart Grid 2.0" of the Easy Smart Grid GmbH. The approach enables the latency-free control of a large number of small decentralized systems in order to incorporate them into the energy system in a technically and economically sensible way.
