The German Institution of Electrical Engineers (VDE) is a knowledge and opinion leading on electricity and energy grids. On the 16^th of Sept.2015 its subgroup specializing on ICT, Information Technology Society ITG, organized a workshop on communication of the future “smart” grid. In his presentation “Approaches to make the grid more flexible with cellular grid and real time market technologies”, Thomas Walter emphasized the synergies of approaches between early insular applications and the transformation of continental grids.
