STEP New York

29/11 to 04/12/2015

The US are quickly becoming another mekka for Smart Energy. Their economy strongly relies on energy, and heavy weather conditions already impair grid availability.

Consequently, grid robustness against external impacts, dubbed "resilience", and decentral structures ("micro grids") that protect against grid failure lead to a different approach than in Europe, where the focus is more on renewable integration.

Easy Smart Grid was invited by bw-i, the economic development agency of Baden-Wuerttemberg, to participate in STEP, a one-week "Startup and Entrepreneur Program". This included visits and exchanges with local startups, the eco system, and a pitching event as the highlight. We also managed to meet players from the innovative energy world of NY City and NY State.

Many thanks go to GACC (the German American Chamber of Commerce) and local partner VentureOut (special thanks to Brian Frumberg for the photos) for the stimulating event and the Government of Baden-Wuerttemberg for making it all possible! Hope we can report on further progress soon.
