03.12.2014: Congress of the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy : "Energiewende with Smart Grid" (Fellbach, Germany)

On the 3rd of December, every players of Baden Württemberg working on the energy issues, more specifically on smart grid topics, were invited by the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy.

The Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy organized together with the Smart Grid platform Baden -Württemberg in Fellbach Congress "Energiewende with smart grids" . Prior to the congress , the Minister Franz Untersteller said: "We need to change the structure basis of our energy supply, so that we can implement the energy transition and climate change measures successfully ".The minister for Environment and Energy emphasized that besides the development of the high voltage transmission grid from North to South,  the local distribution networks should become intelligent and be able to integrate with many distributed generation sources such as photovoltaics or wind turbines.

"Such intelligent networks do not come overnight," said Franz Untersteller . "We must rather continuously upgrade our network over several years and use innovative technologies and new business models."

By 2012, the Baden Württemberg government launched the Smart Grid platform Baden - Württemberg bringing together all relevant stakeholders from industry, energy, science and politics.  Through this platform, the "smart grid roadmap" was written in 2013 and the recommendation’s  implementation has already begun. " The strong commitment of all stakeholders shows me that Baden - Württemberg can be a pioneer in the development and use of smart grids ," said the Minister Franz Untersteller .

Easy Smart Grid had the chance to present its technology at this occasion and to exchange with many smart grid players in Baden Württemberg.
