As the resiliency (ability to withstand disturbances, component failure or attacks) of grids and specifically grid control systems and components gains more and more attention, Peter Asmus, principal research analyst with Navigant, writer of several books on emerging energy market issues including micro grids, dedicated one of his blogs to this important subject. As a consequence, he also came in contact with Easy Smart Grid. He discussed with Thomas Walter the challenges of resiliency, and how the inherently robust design of Easy Smart grid could help improve this critical performance element.
In his blog published May 13th, he mentioned the Easy Smart Grid solution as a “Keep it Simple” approach which takes existing frequency control approaches a step further. He expects it to affect future micro grid, virtual power plant and energy cloud concepts.
