SmaCo (Smart Control)

Different appliances will be addressed and partly controlled by our SmaCo (Smart Control). SmaCo includes a controller, sensors and algorithms to optimize energy prices for the equipment they are added to. It will control the consumption/production behavior of grid participants, taking its energy decisions based on economic criteria and price signal. As a result, the equipment is integrated as “virtual storage” into the grid, and the owner rewarded by commercial benefit to provide their flexibility to the grid. 

We are developing four different types of SmaCo: 

  • SmaCo Cooling 
  • SmaCo Liquid Storage (Water processes)
  • SmaCo Battery
  • SmaCo Multi generation

Note that some appliances might not be flexible (television, cooking devices…) and won’t participate in any flexibility market due to their function. 

Easy Smart Grid meter

The ESG meter allows the introduction of a real time variable tariff measuring the energy flow with the associated frequency in order to write down the energy bill to every producer, consumers (or prosumer).

Intellectual Property

Our Intellectual Property considers two main features:

  • The use of the grid frequency to transmit a priority signal (e.g. price). This allows any grid user to take decisions to generate and consume electricity.
  • A distributed software agent empowering each grid connected device to participate in this market by the implementation of an Easy Smart Grid algorithm.  

A small fees will be required from energy grid operator reaching a high RE penetration through Easy Smart Grid implementation.

 

With Easy Smart Grid, investment into information and communication technology (ICT) is minimized and its communication protocol simplifies the integration of new energy producer, consumer and prosumer (consumer producing fully or partly their energy). On top of that, the system cannot be hacked, and investment into grid management resources including storage can be kept to a minimum.

To support the transformation from a classical grid to an Easy Smart Grid, we will develop over the next year two types of product allowing the implementation of its technology: ESG meter and a SmaCo.
